Muistelutapani on yleensä standardi 40 kysymystä viime vuodesta. Taidan tänäkin vuonna vastata englanniksi, koittakaa kestää. Kuvituksena tämän vuoden huippuhetkiä.
Summing up my year of 2014, once again in English.
1. What did you do in 2014 that you’d never done before?
Let's just say that I learned things about myself which I hadn't known before and am very glad I did. But a more boring answer - learned to become a mother to an autistic child.
2. Did you keep you New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I made 6 promises. See the list here. This is my opinnion on how I did in them:
50-50, I managed about half of my goals for the year. Next year better!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not in the immediate family. Three of my friends have gotten second and third babies though, congratulations to your growing families!
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not too close, good year.
5. What countries did you visit?
Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden, Germany (was it really this year...), Serbia, UK, China, Estonia - I guess there's been quite a lot of travelling, I admit that.
6. What would you like to have in 2015 that you lacked in 2014?
I would always like to have more will power to do the things I should be doing, most efficiently. My work, Tops's excersises, sports. There's always room for a little more self-dicipline.
7. What date from 2014 will remain attached upon your memory, and why?
5.2. I learned my son was autistic.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Things I feel proud of: Writing two papers to my PhD, I think.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Still not finishing my PhD? Very PhD centric this year.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Even though my son started daycare at the beginning of the year, we haven't been ill that much this year. That has been very nice.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Tickets to go back to China I guess.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My husband's, he is the best and most patient man ever. Also my son, who is the most happy boy in the world. Also I have got some awesome colleagues in the University, you know who you are.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
In the beginning, I was not too keen on the speech therapist that my son was appointed to.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Travelling, rent, the usual.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to Barcelona, as that was a long time dream. Getting to know new people, making new friends I guess. But also I got really excited on research. It's an awesome job.
16. What song will always remind you of 2014?
Well, unfortunately it will probably be:
Come back.. Be here (Taylor Swift)
However also these two I really enjoyed again:
Don't stop me now (Queen)
Milla (Anssi Kela)
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
I. happier or sadder? Happier definitely
II. thinner or fatter? Thinner! Yes!
III. richer or poorer? About the same
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Spend time potty-training my son.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Actually I feel I waste very little time in my life. Most is useful. I guess starting some of the useless arguments with my husband probably something I would like to cut back.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
In my mother-in-law's house with my family. Just like last year. And just like last year, it was great.
22. Did you fall in love in 2014?
Yes.
24. What was your favorite tv programme?
Homeland, Sons of Anarchy, Game of Thrones, The Affair... This year these. Sons of Anarchy's final broke my heart, even though I knew how it would go.

No.
26. What was the best book you read?
Books... Did I read any books... Probably not. Shame on me.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I'm so bad at musical discoveries, all years long the same old songs and artists... Maybe Counting Stars by OneRepublic?

I wanted to go back to China, that was my big wish.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I've seen very little films this year:( I guess Gravity.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
The fact that my son would talk.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2014?
Boots! Jeans! Shirts! I think I've limited the colors I use, but sometimes I also step out of my own depths. Let's see if I have time, I will make a 2014 Lookbook, that would be interesting.
34. What kept you sane?
I guess all the support from family and friends and also doing a lot of sports. Dreaming a little, not just letting life be about autism. Living for me as well.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
At the moment I really dig Claire Danes and Olivia Munn. They are awesome.

Well, a life lesson that I re-visited was that quality is better than quantity.

I think once again I will resort to one of my favourite bands ever...
I believe the sun should never set upon an argument
I believe we place our happiness in other people's hands
I believe that junk food tastes so good because it's bad for you
I believe your parents did the best job they knew how to do
I believe that beauty magazines promote low self esteem
I believe I'm loved when I'm completely by myself alone
I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned
I believe you can't appreciate real love 'til you've been burned
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye
I believe you can't control or choose your sexuality
I believe that trust is more important than monogamy
I believe your most attractive features are your heart and soul
I believe that family is worth more than money or gold
I believe the struggle for financial freedom is unfair
I believe the only ones who disagree are millionaires
I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned
I believe you can't appreciate real love 'til you've been burned
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye
I believe forgiveness is the key to your own happiness
I believe that wedded bliss negates the need to be undressed
I believe that God does not endorse tv evangelists
I believe in love surviving death into eternity
