Muistelutapani on yleensä standardi 40 kysymystä viime vuodesta. Tänäkin vuonna vastaan niihin englanniksi. Kuvituksena tämän vuoden huippuhetkiä. Vietän uutta vuotta tänään Southendissa Naomin ja poikani kanssa. Let the party begin! Toivon kaikille erinomaista päivää, yötä ja mahtavaa uutta vuotta 2016!

Summing up my year of 2015, once again in English.

1. What did you do in 2015 that you’d never done before?
I've never been a single parent for 2 months while finishing a PhD.

2. Did you keep you New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I made some promises yes. List you can see in this post. I'll post tomorrow about how I think I did in them. Once again, some of the promises were kept, some of them were not.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes! My cousin had a perfect baby boy and I became a god mother for the first time. That's another first.

 4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes. R.I.P my last grandmother.

5. What countries did you visit?
Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden, Germany,  UK, China, Belgium and Portugal. I feel like I've been to Jyväskylä a lot this year, but I guess there's also been quite a lot of travelling. I suppose next year should be somewhat less busy travel year. Maybe.
6. What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015?
Last year I wrote that I should have more self-dicipline. I doubt that has happened, but at least I achieved my most important goals... As for dicipline - I guess that's not really in my nature. I'd like to be more organised, I'd like my house to be more tidy, to have less things in it. I don't think I will suddenly have more time next year. I think I do utilize my time quite well. I guess there's some room for improvement, which is going to go towards cleaning certainly.

7. What date from 2015 will remain attached upon your memory, and why?
There has been many great days in my life this year. I'd like to remember so many. But I guess none above all. One great day was in the beginning of October when Timo and I performed our embu in the Shorinji Kempo European Championships in Lisbon.

 8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
No doubt the PhD introduction.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I guess not getting Tops out of nappies. Or getting into the picture communication more. I wish I could have done more for him.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Well, in December, we had a streak of childrens' diseases, which were at times, really irritating. I wish they would be behind us by now, or at least by the time we get home in January.

 11. What was the best thing you bought?
I bought a new full frame Canon 6D camera this Autumn:) And I'm in love with it. Definitely was worth it.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Most of my support group during my husband being in China - on top of that list, my aunt Ritva.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
City of Jyväskylä for making us change the special needs helper person of Topfish now for the second time in *one year*, when he should have someone with him throughout his daycare years. I've spent hours on the phone talking about it to the head master of Päivärinne and all kinds of coordinators of Special needs in Jyväskylä. The money just is not there. My sister tells me that the situation is much better in England. Why do we live in Finland again...?

14. Where did most of your money go?
Travelling, rent, the usual.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Meeting new people. I've met some fantastic individuals this year.

16. What song will always remind you of 2015?
Now there's many options for this. Something from Anna Puu might be there on the list, but maybe Juha Tapio's 'Sinun vuorosi loistaa', could be something. It's been a positive year above all. Out of the Eurovision, definitely the Estonian entry of 'Goodbye to Yesterday'. "My love was never going to be enough, so I took my things and got out of your way now girl"

Songs that are in my December playlist:
Puhu äänellä, jonka kuulen (Happoradio)
2080-luvulla (Sanni)
Sinä ansaitset kultaa (Jari Sillanpää)
Säännöt rakkaudelle (Anna Puu)
Killer Queen (Queen)

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
I. happier or sadder? Happier definitely
II. thinner or fatter? Thinner! Yes! Weight is probably similar, but the abbs definitely much more there.
III. richer or poorer? Richer as well.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Spend time potty-training my son.(Same answer as the previous year. That should be a sign)
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Like I said, I think my time is rather well spent, but if I'd like to cut something - I think it would be some social media use which does not have much of a purpose except brain unwind.

 20. How did you spend Christmas?
I spent Christmas in Kajaani with my mother and my son. We saw the declaration of peace. We had a sauna, listened to carrols, had some great food. What's not to like?

22. Did you fall in love in 2015?
Yes.

24. What was your favorite tv programme?
Homeland, Game of Thrones, The Affair... House of Cards is also good, but it's not my favourite.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you did not hate this time last year?
No.

26. What was the best book you read?
Nikos Palavitsinis's PhD...? No really, I have read some books this year which were great. Including 50 Shades of Grey which was horrible. But at least I read some books...

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Finn music. I really have been feeling like listening to nothing but Finnish music for a while. Odd.

28. What did you want and get?
There's been so many achievements this year, so difficult to answer something that has not popped up before in this quiz already.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I've seen very little films this year, but Birdman by far. Yes I loved the new Star Wars as well, but Birdman was like good in a critical way.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 34 and it was the day we spent in hospital with my son. Not the greatest birthdays in the world. I hope next week will be better. I've had a gay man promising to buy me champagne in London, so clearly an improvement. Last year's contemplation you an read here . I also celebrated my birthday with a Red Carpet theme.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
The fact that my son would talk. Last year's answers write this year's blog:)

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2015?
Leather, fur and less color this year. I love my style now a days, although it's sometimes just jeans and a top. Pencil skirts!

34. What kept you sane?
Friends. Family. Social life.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Many fantastic people in the world, but as far as celebrities go, this year Carrie Fisher kicked arse. And so did . The whole new and old cast of Force Awakens actually. Can't decide.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Finnish government's budget cuts from nurses' salaries and research...

37. Who did you miss?
I guess I've been travelling a lot. I miss my loved ones when I'm somewhere they are not. I guess that's obvious. My husband went to China for two months, Tops and I missed him a lot.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
If we are talking of people I never met before, it's a draw between two lovely women, S and J. But also Manja... There's been many great new people coming to my life this year and some people who I knew a long time ago now suddenly become much better friends than before.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2015:
Acceptance is the most important issue. Also: You can't do a PhD overnight. Or two nights. Or ten nights.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year

She keeps Moët et Chandon
In her pretty cabinet
'Let them eat cake,' she says
Just like Marie Antoinette
A built-in remedy
For Kruschev and Kennedy
At anytime an invitation
You can't decline

Caviar and cigarettes
Well versed in etiquette
Extraordinarily nice

She's a Killer Queen
Gunpowder, gelatine
Dynamite with a laser beam
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime

Recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite
Wanna try?

To avoid complications
She never kept the same address
In conversation
She spoke just like a baroness
Met a man from China
Went down to Geisha Minah
Then again incidentally
If you're that way inclined

Perfume came naturally from Paris
For cars she couldn't care less
Fastidious and precise

She's a Killer Queen
Gunpowder, gelatine
Dynamite with a laser beam
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime

Drop of a hat she's as willing as
Playful as a pussy cat
Then momentarily out of action
Temporarily out of gas
To absolutely drive you wild, wild..
She's all out to get you

She's a Killer Queen
Gunpowder, gelatine
Dynamite with a laser beam
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime

Recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite
Wanna try?
You wanna try...

Thank you for this year of 2015 everyone!
