Mitä minä oikeastaan väitän?
Asiantuntija-arvioinnit yhdistettynä käyttäjien luomaan laadunvarmistukseen (suosittelujärjestelmät, vertaisarvioinnit, kommentointimahdolisuudet) edistävät oppimateriaalipankkien menestystä.
PhD Defence is coming! Next week I am defending my PhD thesis "Why Open Educational Resources Repositories Fail – the Contribution of Quality Approaches to the Success of Repositories". The defense is open for public in Agora, Mattilanniemi 2, at 12noon on 16th of April in the Martti Ahtisaari hall. There is also coffee and cake afterwards:) My opponent is Dr. Javiera Atenas from University College London and my custos is my professor and supervisor Prof. Dr. Jan Pawlowski. You are welcome to come and see me squirm:)
What is my claim exactly?
I am an information systems researcher. I am interested in how technology changes the behavior of people. In my case, I was curious on why teachers were not using the websites where open educational materials were being gathered. My hypothesis was that quality and quality assurance could help the repositories to succeed. My dissertation showed that expert reviews combined with user-generated quality assurance mechanisms contribute towards the success of repositories.
