/So the day has come: Tops is going to school today. What's happened to my little baby? He is 6 years old now. In Finland, kids go to school at 7, but he has special needs, so he will go at 6. His school will last for 11 years and he will do so called 'pre-school' years for two years more in Kypärämäki (helmet hill), which is the name of the school where all Autistic go in Jyväskylä. We have visited the place in the spring and we have too. It is a lovely place for him. There's 1:1 ratio of kids and adults, so he will have his own 'person'. There's 3 classes of Autistic. There's 7 kids in his class, varying on about 5 years of age. In his group, there's another child his age. He will go to school with a taxi and return the same way. This is a bit alarming for parents - how will the taxi driver manage, we wonder, with more than one kid... But They have 25 years of experience in this school, I have faith in the system. Still, it was tearful to leave his old daycare where he had been for 3 years. It was specially tearful to leave his special person M...
