This weekend we had guests over and we had not really planned much. Some time together and relaxing. We ended up doing quite much: We went swimming, visited 3 different children's playgrounds, sneak peaked the Yläkaupungin yö, went to Amarillo for a late lunch, had some wine at our own terrace, had looong sleep in the morning, followed by brunches and of course listened to a lot of Eurovision songs and danced along:)
We discussed a lot about how important it is to do things which kids enjoy as well as things which adoults enjoy. Specially in a family with a special needs kid. So easily the life becomes *just about* the kids. I certainly do not want to be that person who watched her life go by when she just said: oh, no, we cannot do this or that, because we've got this special kid. Yes, both adoult and kids' needs need to be looked after, but both must get to do what they like. This weekend we tried to find ways for the adoults to enjoy alongside the kid. In the swimming hall, adoults could swim and compete on various ways. In the parks, there are also ways to excersise. I did some trampoliining today and it was awesome:) Happy family means more than a happy kid!
