Every night in CHina, we walk to our usual restaurant for dinner. This is about one block away. To get there, we need to walk past 'shopping in the dark' - all those CHinese black market sales people who are selling everything from clothes to shoes to iphone covers on the street. The street prices are very low of course, as they don't pay tax or rent on their selling spots. The Chinese authorities come once every night with their van and then shopping in the dark will quickly pack up their layouts of their products and hide until they leave. But as soon as the 'enforcers' have disapeared, the sales continue as usual. This is the Chinese way - the Shopping in the dark.
