ODS: Action Collaboration

This wednesday I facilitated in a planning workshop for the Open Discovery Space project's internal meeting. Our aim was to find new views towards how we approach schools and what rewards they get on participating on ODS.

Keskiviikkona toimin ohjaajana suunnitteluworkshopissa Open Discovery Space-projektin sisäisessä kokouksessa. Tarkoituksena oli löytää uusia näkemyksiä siihen, miten lähestymme kouluja ja miten tarjoamme heille jotain konkreettista vastineeksi sille ajalle, minkä he käyttävät osallistuen tähän projektiin.

 This effort was managed through ISKME's Action colab tools, which I learned last year in the Pollenzo training (see some pictures about the training here). I also used this technique with the Chinese students quite successfully a few weeks back.

Tässä suunnittelupalaverssa käytettiin ISKME:n Action Colab -metodia, johon sain koulutusta Italiassa syksyllä (kuvia aiheesta). Käytin tätä metodia myös Kiinassa.

 In this method, you start by giving the group someone to interview to get research insights.

Tässä metodissa ryhmä haastattelee alan ammattilaista saadakseen uusia ideoita.

 Then these research insights are shared on post-its and clustered.
 Nämä ajatukset kirjataan postit-lappuihin ja ryhmitellään teemoittain.

 In the third phase the main design is visualized through a 'prototype'
Kolmannessa vaiheessa ryhmän idea visualisoidaan prototyypiksi.

 

 

 The aim is to communicate the findings to the rest of the group through a presentation.
Lopussa idea esitetään koko ryhmälle.

 It's a welcome change from sitting behind a computer and listening in to a lecture.
Useimmat osallistujat toivottivat tämän metodin tervetulleeksi vaihteluksi iän ikuiselle tietokoneen takana istuskelulle.

I was very pleased with the progress of our group on Wednesday and I saw it work well also for others in the same session. I'd like to thank all participants and fellow facilitators. Good job!
