Bon Odori

 Mitä ihmettä? Internet toimii tänäaamuna? Mistäs nyt tuulee... Noh, jokatapauksessa lupasin kirjoitella Bon Odorista, joka oli Taikain ihan ensimmäinen tapahtuma, perjantai-iltana Osakassa. / Bon Odori was the first event of the Taikai in Osaka.

 Tämä tarkoitti käytännössä sitä, että 300 hyväuskoista kenshiä paketoitiin yukatoihin (lainassa) ja päälle iskettiin vielä Happi-coat, eli vaaleanpunainen ihanuus takaamaan sen, että kaikki varmasti näyttivät yhtä hauskoilta... Happi-coatin sai pitää.  / We were all made to wear a Yukata plus a pink Happi-coat, what fun!

 Voin kertoa, että tuollaisessa +36asteen helteessä tämä oli juuri se asu, jota et halua laittaa päällesi. / In +36 degrees celcius, I would have preferred hotpants to be fair... It was only *slightly* hot in this outfit. Plus the humidity of the air was like 150% as we know, it was going to rain later on...

 Kun oli pukeuduttu, mentiin bussilla n. puolen tunnin matkan päähän, isolle tehdasalueelle, jossa käveltiin tehdasalueen läpi vielä noin kilometri itse tapahtumapaikalle. / After dressing up, we took a bus to a factory site, somewhere about thirty minutes ride. After which there was still about a kilometre walk inside the factory...

 Bon Odori on Japanilainen traditionaalinen tapahtuma, jonka keskiössä on Bon Odori -tanssi. Jotta jaksaa tanssia, täytyy ensin syödä! / Bon Odori is a traditional Japanese event, a dance, but in order to have energy to dance, one must first eat.

 Tämä oli ensimmäinen tapaaminen monen ystävän kanssa. / First event of the taikai to meet many old friends.

 Illlallinen/Dinner box...

 Tehdasalue oli koristeltu lampuin / The factory scene was very beautifully decorated.

 Bon Odori paikalla oli erilaisia yrityksiä ja hyväntekeväisyyksiä esittelemässä tuotteitaan. Tämä oli jonkun luonnonsuojelufirman koju: Siellä oli iso pala JÄÄTÄ (siis huom! Ulkona edelleen +36), jota sai käydä koskettamassa kädellä. Telkassa pyöri lappiaiheinen filmi... / At the Bon Odori site, there was various sellers and exhibitiors, such as this nature company, which had brought in a big lump of ICE, which you could line up and touch...(Note that it's still tropical +36 weather outside) There was also some videos of lapland going in the monitors...

 No me ei Kirsin kanssa koettu tarvetta jonottaa, jotta päästäis koskettamaan jäätä... / Kirsi and I did not find the need to queue to go and touch a piece of ice. We can do that at home... Still, it's ironic to come to Osaka and have this as the entertainment, right? Japanese are a bit peculiar, right!

 Paikalla oli n. tuhat henkeä (joista ehkä 300 kenshiä), tämä oli siis paikallinen karnevaali, ei pelkästään meille järjestetty. Japanilaisnaiset olivat kimonoissaan. / There was maybe a thousand people there total (not just kenshis), as this was a local carneval - Japanese women were in the real Kimonos.

 Lapsille oli pomppulinnaa ja ongintaa yms. / There was some kids activities as well.

 Tungosta riitti. / Enough people?

 Tapahtuman keskiössä oli lava, jossa oli rummuttajia ja esitanssijoita. / In the heart of this event, there was a stage with drummers and dancers, which you could mimic.

 Tunnelma oli kyllä aivan omaa luokkaansa. / The athmosphere was something on its own quality.

 Tanssiin sai liittyä pystin ympärillä. / You could join into the dance around the stage.

 Ja juuri kun Kirsin kanssa löysimme ekat oluet ja hän totesi, että tää on elämänsä paras olut ikinä... TAPAHTUI TÄMÄ / And just after the first beer (apparently the best beer Kirsi has ever had)... THIS HAPPENED:
